Location: Jelgava and Riga, Latvia
This youth exchange is designed for young people who want to explore history, remembrance, and international cooperation while building meaningful connections in a multicultural summer experience.
Participants will take part in educational and group activities focused on Latvia’s history during the First World War, the German occupation, the formation of the Latvian state, the fate of refugees, and the culture of remembrance. Through shared reflection, historical discussions, and international exchange, you will explore themes such as multiculturalism in the region, the role of Latvian riflemen, and the consequences of war for society.
The programme combines historical learning, international encounters, practical activity, and shared community life to strengthen key competences such as intercultural understanding, cooperation, responsibility, historical awareness, and active participation. The project also offers the opportunity to experience both the Latvian countryside and the city of Riga, combining nature, history, and leisure in one summer experience.
If you want to connect with people from different countries, learn more about history and remembrance and be part of an inspiring international summer experience, this youth exchange is for you!
