EUVideo games

Duration: 03/03/2024 – 02/03/2026

EUvideo games is a 24-month Erasmus+ cooperation partnership focused on youth that uses the power of educational video games to boost young people’s understanding of democratic values and active citizenship. The project responds to the challenge of making civic education more engaging for youth by combining digital creativity, media literacy, and critical thinking into one accessible learning experience.

Through a set of non-coding tools, templates, and interactive guides, PlayEU gives young people the means to explore, design, and share their own civic-themed games – regardless of prior technical knowledge. Youth workers and educators receive support materials and training to guide this process, ensuring that game creation becomes a space for both skill-building and meaningful reflection on EU principles such as democracy, human rights, and the rule of law.

Core project outputs include 10 short educational games created by the consortium, 20 final games developed by participating youth, and a wide range of adaptable materials such as thematic fiches, creative toolboxes, how-to tutorials, and game templates. These resources are designed to be reused in different learning contexts and can be easily integrated into workshops, classrooms, and youth programmes.

PlayEU not only enhances digital literacy and creative confidence but also promotes civic participation by encouraging young people to become storytellers and changemakers in their communities. The project is led by a diverse partnership of organisations from Poland, Belgium, Italy, and Lithuania, united by a shared goal: to make democratic learning more accessible, interactive, and youth-led across Europe.
