NextGEN: digital youth workers manual

We recently held a training course titled “NextGen: Digital Youth Workers” here in Lithuania.

The project included an in-person training in Markutiškės (Trakai Region, Vilnius County), where 33 youth workers participated in a six-day professional development program. Throughout the course, participants explored key topics through a variety of engaging formats—team-building activities, individual and group work, presentations, role-play, simulations, brainstorming sessions, discussions, and reflections. These diverse methodologies created a space for sharing insights and gaining valuable skills and knowledge.

We chose to blend seminars, handouts, and presentations with hands-on approaches such as role-playing, group tasks, team-building exercises, real-life simulations, reflective practices, and individual assignments. This dynamic mix allowed participants to develop both theoretical understanding and practical competencies—especially in the areas of conflict management and resolution.

As the course concludes, the final stages begin: dissemination and follow-up activities. This manual is part of those efforts. Through collaboration and shared contributions, we’ve gathered methods, national perspectives, practical advice, and relevant insights to help spread the project’s message. The manual will be available on the SALTO platform and through the networks of our partner organizations.
