Location: Paris, France
The Paname project is dedicated to exploring a key element of French cultural heritage: musette or bal musette music. This lively and emotional musical style flourished in late 19th-century Paris, especially during a time of strong Italian immigration. Musette music is more than just sound—it’s a dance, a celebration, and a symbol of cultural fusion that shaped the spirit of Paris. Alongside this musical evolution, Impressionist painters gathered in places like Montmartre and riverside guinguettes, creating a new artistic wave that forever transformed modern art. Painters and musicians alike were experimenting with ways to express emotions and tell stories. The name Paname, a popular nickname for Paris, reflects this creative and multicultural spirit. This exchange invites youth workers from across Europe to dive into that same energy: sharing their own culture, developing artistic skills, and building connections through music and art.
