Location: Hassagy, Hungary
“Recycling is cool” is an intercultural Erasmus+ youth exchange where creativity meets sustainability. Together with young people from across Europe, you will learn hands-on “slow” and “green” techniques in five rotating workshops related to paper, plastic, metal & wood, textile, and glass & porcelain recycling, where you will be guided by local experts. No boring theory, just real making, real skills, and a lot of fun with cool people.
But it’s not just about waste; it’s about roots too. You will dive into local and European cultural heritage, explore the charming Hungarian village of Hásságy and the vibrant student city of Pécs, join guided tours, visit Pécs’s World Heritage Sites and the Zsolnay Cultural Quarter, and even discover inspiring green and social entrepreneurship stories.
The international dimension will be discovered. You will share these works in small mixed-nationality groups, swapping languages, traditions, and ideas with peers from all over Europe—proving that sustainability is a team sport, no matter where you’re from.
Age of participants: 16–30 (no age limit for group leaders)
Accommodation and meals during the project will be free of charge. Travel expenses will be reimbursed according to Erasmus+ rules after the project.
